Film Research : Mother (2009)

A mother lives quietly with her twenty-eight-year-old son, Do-joon, providing herbs and acupuncture to neighbors. One day, a girl is brutally murdered, and Do-joon is charged with the killing. Now, it's his mother's call whether to prove him innocent or to leave him imprisoned.
The reason why I decided to look at this film is becaus eof the relationship the mother and son have which links into our story idea as well. The relationship between the mother and son is the only thing that keeps this film going and this is inspirational to me because its a stream that runs through out the film and this is the same link I need to include in our short film. A stream that runs through our short film will make more sense out of it and this stream would be the relationship between Linda(Mother) & Colin (Son).
They have a very tight secure relationship like in this film bu things happen the other way because Linda in this case need help from her Son Colin and doesnt get the help she needed from him.
The camera techiniques and angles in this film are very dramatic because its a drama genre and these camera shots are mostly close ups of the characters faces which shows emotion and expression.
Colour plays a big role in this film because it portrays what kind of atmosphere or mood they are in for instance when the mother is fighting for her sons life the background is very dull, dark and very rainy. This atmosphere creates that scary and dangerous feeling for the audience but that is the reason for it because during that moment is when things are going very bad and the mother has to look for the real killer.
