Location Recce

In order to find the perfect locations to film for our product, we visited different places to carry out rehearsal shots and watch them back to see if they matched our story plot and whether they were safe/easy to film in. We carried out the same rehearsal shots in different locations to test the lighting, space, sound, framing and mise-en-scene. At the end we found the perfect location for our short film and everythign fitted in however we did have to make some changes on the scene. All of our crew and cast had a responsibility to ensure that a Risk Assessment was carried out. Failure to comply with this assessment could have lead to filming being halted while measures were taken or in extreme circumstances total cancelling of the shoot.
We made them aware of this because it is an important part of our work and production. Because of this we used a risk assessment in all of our shooting locations.

Diary Entry 6

We came up with a brilliant idea to get more into the inner depth of Kidney Failure / Dialysis Problems and we just want to make sure that our actoress acts out Linda's character properyl so what we have planned to do is to go to a local hospital and visit people with the actually kidney problem.

Real life experience makes the short film more realistic and thats what we want to achieve in this project which is to make it as realistic as possible.

Were seeing this as an success to learn more about kidney problems

even tough our topic is about Manhood.

It just gives us a broader knowledge about other things except for our subject matter.

Diary Entry 5

Now were on the last ends of pre-production which is planning out everything and making sure we are ready to shoot our short film . At this stage everything is looking perfectly fine and we are just scrolling through everything to make sure that its all in perfection before going out to shoot our short film.
In my view my group has been doing there best and have been progressing at a good stage but there's always room form improvements so we are just working on the little things and with feedback just making a few changes.
David is in charge of Casting and Rikita is in charge of Props and I am in charge of the Story board however as a group we all help eachother and make sure it looks of top standard and presentable.

Actors & Auditions

The group decided our film will be better suited if the actors were a white family. So for the last week we have been trying to find a white mother and two sons which has been very difficult, especially finding the mother due to my age. Although we discussed with our group a few days ago about the difficulties and we have decided that it would be more practical to find a black family. Therefore we are most likely going to have a black although if we can find a white then we will go forward with that. We  found an actor for the black family to play JOHN but not for COLIN or LINDA. By Wednesday 9th we wanted to have had all my actors ready for my film. This will require us to contact actors and set auditions. For the extra's we was just going to gather people from around our school, but we soon realized that even a single shot could take time so we need well informed prepared actors. Auditions will be held for the major and main characters on Monday 7th

Due to the amount of actors needed intense work has to be taken to follow this out and get the actors efficiently and on time, I see this as my responsibility and will be detrimental to the group if it is not.
